SuperVision is a data collection tool that will help you conduct surveys, complete
inspections, judge sporting competitions, observe experiments, appraise items or
bid on jobs.
Having this powerful tool with you,
wherever you carry your iPhone, will improve your efficiency and make your observations
consistent, accurate and repeatable.
You can create custom forms using the
6 data types including: Select One, Select Multiple, Counter, Switch, Stop Watch
and Text.
Once complete, the results can be sent
in CSV format and then imported into your spreadsheet. Your iPhone is now a mobile
data collection device.
Define, Measure, Analyze, and Improve!
How to use SuperVision:
1. Define your study.
What is it you want to know? How many fairway strokes in your golf round? How many
inside corners in a room for your carpeting bid? How long it took your son to clean
his room? How your customers rate your products?
You ask the questions, we’ll help you as you record the answers.
Questions can be defined by any of the following types, based on what kind of information
you want to collect:
-
Select One or Select Multiple. These question types
allow you to pick items from a list to answer a question. And you can even define
your own list! Want to know which political candidate a person is voting for? Add
the candidates to a list and then just touch the correct name as your are conducting
your exit poll.
-
Counter. Counters allow you to track the number of
times something happened. How many times did your waiter refill your drink during
your meal as you were evaluating a restaurant? How many times did the customer service
person redirect your call before you spoke to the right person?
-
Yes/No. Quickly keep track of whether or not something
happened during your observation. Did the job candidate you were interviewing demonstrate
knowledge about your company or product?
-
Stopwatch. How long did something take? How long were
your secret shoppers in the new location of your store before someone offered to
help them? How many minutes did your daughter play in last night’s game?
- Text. Sometimes there is just no better way to record data than to type it in. What was the name of the golf pro that helped you with your shot in this session? What city is your customer visiting from? Is there an email address you can use to follow-up with them?
2. Measure
SuperVision helps you gather information for your study. As you take surveys, play games, perform inspections, or in any other way gather data, you create observations in SuperVision. Each observation is a data point. You may take an observation for each round of golf you play so that you can compare your statistics over time. You may take an observation for each voting location that you survey. You may take an observation for each customer that you interview. Or you may take an observation each week to record your child’s progress in piano lessons.
3. Analyze
As you gather observations of related data, you will want to see how different observations
compare to each other. Is my game improving? Is this restaurant better than the
others? Is my child getting more playing time as he scores more points? Are my customers
happier when I am running a sale?
The simplest way to analyze data is to use the “Averages” view in SuperVision. Just
touch the Averages button and the screen will flip around to reveal the averages
of all observations in this study. This feature makes it really easy to compare
your current observation to the average.
When you need more data processing power, just touch the “Send Results” button to email yourself a copy of all the observation data in a study. The data is sent in a convenient CSV format, ready for use in Excel, Access, or any other data analysis tool of your choice.
Once you know what’s happening, then you can make informed decisions on how to improve it. Am I consistently shooting the ball off of the fairway on long holes. Is there an aspect of my business that my customers consistently rate low? Are voters on the west side less likely to support my candidate?
